Okay, since I last posted Nikki via Helen helped get me a job. I'm glad to be employed, glad I'm not freezing my ass off this winter, but I still want to get out of Miami eventually. Just gotta save.

Oh, I have a new blog, based on video games, called Fun With Controllers. I've posted on it a bit more than I have here.

Now for the few people that still read this, you may be able to help me out. I can't remember if it was at USF or UCF because my memory sucks ass but I was friends with a redhead who had either a younger sister or a fraternal twin that was a brunette. I think I keep seeing the brunette on the metro rail. Unfortunately I can't really remember either party that well. I guess all the TV and pot really did my memory in.

Anyways, later days.

-Mike

I'm going nuts.

I'm unemployed, tired of video games, don't have cable, and my friends are all shut-in vampires or grad students.

Where the hell do people go in Miami when they are just out of college? (South Beach is not an option as it is filled with fake people and aids.)

Oh, if you didn't know, I graduated, moved back home, and am looking for a job.

Washington DC was a lot of fun. And I enjoyed my summer. Even met an Ewok.

-Mike

So for the 4th of July, I drove up to Tallahassee with my roommate to hang out with the AEPi's there.

While they were nice guys, they were the stereotypical frat guys. Also, they were more concerned with freshman pussy than fireworks or anything else really so it was pretty lame. Should have called up Helen to hang out with her.

I've seen Live Free or Die Hard and Transformers. Both are action-packed completely off the wall summer good time fun movies. I suggest them both. Just don't take either too seriously and you will enjoy the film. And this is coming from someone currently wearing a Transformer shirt.

I have about 3 more weeks in Orlando. Probably won't finish my job by then, but my bosses have realized that by now. I think my real job now is just recruiting new people to intern at Solid Waste so they have a new set.

Probably going to Tampa this weekend to see some friends hopefully not for the last time.

Also need to take a 5 hour creativity test for a potential job.

I'm just tired of Orlando now. I've graduated and most of my fellow graduates have already left. And I have already come to terms with my college chapter being over. Now it's like I'm stuck here. Yes, I should have applied for jobs earlier, but it's not just that. I just hate the atmosphere. I'm not in college anymore, and yet I'm surrounded by it. Which is why I want to get back to Miami with that group. It's a group that has existed out of the college life for 6 years now and I like them a lot more than most of the people up here.

Oh yeah, ABC stole our idea for a Fraternity based sitcom, though from what I have heard it sucked horribly. Good.

Lastly, it sucks not having the Big Trouble in Little China poster over my bed for the first time since Sophomore year.
I finished the video portion of my video for work. Granted it doesn't have a lot of the footage I would have liked to have had in it, but we never got a graphic designer to come up with CGI images of the different layers. But for what I was given, it is decent. Now I need to do the narration and music tracks in the next 2 weeks.

Tomorrow I'm going to MGM for the last Star Wars Weekend with a friend of mine. I'm gonna meet an Ewok!

Yesterday after work I went with my Lil Christine to pick up her Jersey and geek out. It was a fun time. Also, I have decided my Greek family is the cast of anime. Christine is a blue-haired ultra-violent vampire; Angie is a recently blonde drama queen; and Adam is a redhead hippie slacker.

This weekend I will going down to Miami to start dropping off stuff. Looks like it will be for Saturday night to Sunday afternoon/evening.

Also going on is I am going to be leaving my apartment a few days early. I am booking a trip to DC with the same friend from MGM. We'll be there the weekend of July 27th through August 31st. I'm technically supposed to move out August 1st (but that is going to be crazy). So, looks like once I am done with the video, which should be in 2 weeks, the rest of my days will be transporting stuff back down, finishing my resume, and sending it out, as well as spending the last few days with the people I actually care about. Probably a trip to Tampa for a weekend as well.

Well that is my update for the summer midpoint. Later days.

-Mike

Last Weekend I went into Tampa to see Marlow and Juan's art show. It was a lot of fun. Even got to run into Seth, Jess, and Tara, which was nice, if a bit awkward. But it was just nice to hang out with my old friends. Talking with Antonette about everything in my life made things a lot better. My favorite quote: "About that whore, we gonna burn down her house, because I know a guy?"

The next day I went to MegaCon. Ran into Pablo as I was going on the shuttle and he was coming off. Hung out with Terri and Her boyfriend Matt the whole time, ran into Brenna (she was wearing a shirt that read "Many Bothans died bringing me this shirt". I of course was wearing my black death shirt, because every year random people will come up to me saying it is one of the coolest shirts they have ever seen, and it makes me feel better.

I'm starting to talk to Rochelle again. It's funny what you realize when someone fucks you over worse. She's doing great, sounds like a normal person now instead of her former withdrawn meak voice. She just broke up with the douche bag she went to UF for, and is doing better, and for each other, the fact that we can talk to each other and say we don't hate each other and we are happy for the times we had together also means a lot.

Tomorrow is my last AEPi Campout. It is going to be CO-OLD. I'm going to bring out the Zombie-proof jacket. I'm also going to be blitzed out of my mind. It's what I need.

In other news, I have been looking into jobs after college, primarily video game companies looking for Game Designers. I have actually found the perfect job, and in getting closer to it, I am going to start talking to my Game Design teacher, asking him for either a letter of recommendation and/or as a reference, getting a better understanding of GDD's as the semester progresses, and writing my own mini GDDs, that way when I apply, I not only have all the qualifications, but I have more of a reason for them to hire me.

I can't wait to get out of here.
So I didn't go to Gasparilla. Realized it was the day carnival, some of the more obnoxious and immature brothers were going, so I figured I would stay in town, get stoned, and watch movies with friends.

Friday night at my friends' apartment, a group of us guys were just sitting back and relaxing when their retarded roommate decides to invite 4 of the most shallow and self-conceited Jewish freshman bitches over. First off, I rarely like Obnoxious Freshman girls. I especially do not like Obnoxious Jewish Freshman girls. People I want to hit with my car are obnoxious Jewish Freshman girls in Alpha Epsilon Phi. All of them were these girls. Suffice it to say, everyone was pissed. In revenge the next day we played Risk and killed him off by turn 4 so we wouldn't see him for the rest of the night.

Anyways, back on point, I'm putting my schedule up here.

This weekend in Mt. Dora is a Civil War Reenactment. Hopefully it will be warm. I went last year and it was a blast. This year, I actually have money in my account, so I can spend it on fun Civil War shit.

The weekend of the 10th appears to be free at this moment in time.

Thursday the 15th I will be driving into Tampa to hang out with Marlow and Juan, and anyone else in the area because of the art show. Stay there Friday night as well. That Saturday is Megacon, and I will be in attendance for at least one of the days, hanging out with friends, buying Bandanas.

The weekend of the 24th is AEPi Campout, so that means booze and baking in the middle of the cold woods. I always love that.

And those are my plans for this month. Don't have to worry about a 6 month anniversary, Valentine's Day or Claire's Birthday, which means I get to spend money on myself. And at least I don't cheap out on gifts for myself.

Later Days

Yes, that's right, candy and costumes just went on sale. Which is good because I love candy, and I need to get a badass Pirate costume for AEPi's Dirty Pirate Hooker Semi-Formal.

Claire already has her costume. It looks good. I'm also designing the shirts for the event.

Classes and work are the same: they are going. Game Engines is great since as concept developer, I'm almost done. Just need to write up some backstories and character descriptions, some dialogue, and I'm basically done.

You know what I love about a normal girlfriend: getting shit. I mean, I always find weird trinkets for her, or save her free shirts. The other day she gave me a back of M&Ms and a cheap Zombie DVD. But not just any zombie DVD, this one is about Nazi Zombies. And if you know anything about me, watching Nazis and/or Zombies getting killed is the epitomy of fun (my friends, if I disappear, still yell out "Mike, stop killing Nazis!")

I got an actual tv stand. Got it from Jared since he and Eric just graduated, and are already back in New Hampshire. It's sad, the 6 have broken up and changed so much since almost 3 years ago. Two are gone, one of us is here but now sells drugs, Sabin still is afraid of girls. Well, some things haven't changed at all.

Before they left and we bought everything from them, we had a Nu night, which was a lot of fun in the old ways.

And I should shower in a bit since I need to run on campus.
Today was my 23rd and hopefully last birthday in college. And by far the best.

Freshman year, I spent it by myself at Fontana Hall, all of my friends either at UF, FSU, or back in Miami. I was lonely, although the next day I saw Cowboy Mouth and Better Than Ezra in concert with Korea Bitch. While the concert was good, Korea Bitch is named thusly for a reason.

Sophomore year was me sitting at my desk, realizing I was 2 decades old and this is what I was doing with my life. Again, lonely, although I did get hang out with the Honors Crew that weekend. I miss the honors crew.

Junior year I got stuck inking a piece for Design 2d until 3 am. I didn't know anyone so that weekend I went back to Tampa and got drunk at Schep's new (now no longer) place.

Senior year, since I was sleeping on Bronwyn's couch (making me the 6th person living in a 3x3), Kyle and I ended up watching my favorite movie. As I look back on it, god that was a waste of a birthday and 3 months.

This year, got to sleep in, skipped class (as well as the rest of my group), had a good time with Phi Sigma Pi, and then the best part: Claire came over with an ice cream cake, and the only thing I had asked for (proving she is an awesome girlfriend): Venture Bros. Season 1 DVD. We watched some of it together, in which I told her it was the best birthday I have had, and really it was because she was there.

Saturday is my party and Bennigan's where I hope to not die. But who knows. Also the USF VS UCF game. I'm not planning on attending since UCF fans are bitches, and even if USF slaughters UCF, all I will hear is how much USF sucks.

Anyways, it is late, and I have to do a BS Powerpoint project tomorrow.
I know, I rarely update anymore. I think I'm at that stage that all the old Miami Crew has gone through and just don't care about this anymore.

But anyways, up to what I'm going through.

I'm in a new apartment with brothers and across the hall from brothers. Yes, I am finally free of Darren Sevel (and yes, he actually has become a problem for his new roommates, poor bastards). The guys I live with are nice and things are going well here, and my room is huge. I still need a tv stand or an entertainment center thingy.

Claire and I are officially dating. After months of talking (which was worth it) and occassionally seeing each other, when we were finally both settled in Orlando, I took her to P.F. Changs, a walk around Winter Park Village, and finally told her how I felt, and asked if I could be her boyfriend. She said she liked me too and would be happy if I were her boyfriend. Unfortunately I didn't see her for the first week we were together because of Sorority recruitment, but I told her she could always text me, but she didn't want to scare me. Her sisters have teased her saying "Mike is dating a shiksa." Not my fault the single Jewish girls are psychos and/or obnoxious.

It's nice to actually be dating a sane girl (she has passed my "Is she sane/nice" tests). It's also nice that she lives in the building next to mine, of course that could go sour, but at this point, I don't think so. We're still figuring out our schedules, but we watch Futurama together every weeknight (and I call her an amazing girlfriend for liking the show). We are taking things at a nice pace, a bit slow, but we are just getting to really know each other.

I'm still working. The job is going slow, but well, and I am doing all that I can. And at this point, my employers just want me to finish before I graduate. Which works for me since I need the money.

School is going to be a bitch. Project 1 requires 9 hours of work a week. Game Engines requires us to make 2 video games this semester, but I have a good group. Production 2 will have us making 4 movies, but we don't have groups yet. The After Effects class will be a great class, except for the fact that it is 3 hours every Thursday night. My last class, which is the only class I have today, is a joke, so I am not worried about that one.

Oh yeah, still in AEPi for one more semester, and sure enough Rush is coming up. Great, who doesn't love mandatory events all week long. Thank god I don't have to deal with Thursdays.

Tonight is a party for one of my neighbors. I don't plan on drinking that much tonight. A common occurance this year is the seperation of party attendees by age. Those who are not freshman tend to stick together and enjoy the company of others. The freshman hang out solely in the kitchen and act like, well, stupid freshman. To this extent, when I have my 23rd birthday party, the annoying freshman and drunk idiots will be across the hall, while the older, more relaxed people who still wish to drink, will be over at my place. What really makes it work is that we will have pledges as bouncers to keep the idiots away.

Well, that's my update at the start of the semester. Later days.

-Mike

An Update from the Guy on the Couch

So I moved out of Pegasus Landing today. Spent two years there, longest college apartment I've been in. I've had some good times, and some bad. Living with obnoxious Jews = Bad. Actually spending the night with a girl in my bed (albeit she is psycho bitch) = Good. Having my own hookah = Good. Realizing I have way too much shit = Bad.

Summer has been interesting. Classes are almost done (UCF affiliated apartments have an interesting situation where your lease is up before finals are done), work is kinda stagnant, but going, and social life is decent. Claire actually called me Saturday to ask if I wanted to go to Pleasure Island. I originally said no, but after my friends told me I was an idiot, I changed my plans and went. I had a blast after I got a drink through me, danced with her, and wanted to tell her how I feel, but decided to wait until 2 weeks from now where it will be a bit more personal.

So yeah, that's about it. This starts another chapter in the book of my life I like to call "Tales From the Couch: The UCF Years". Later days.

-Mike

4th of July sitcom

Maybe it was the weed. Maybe it's because we crossed a bridge. Maybe it's because I enjoy That 70's Show. Whatever the case, sitting on top of some guys roof watching firewords go off all around us made me imagine that I was younger and at a different time. Very campy movie nostalgia.

Nevertheless, this July 4th was a lot of fun and not boring like last year. This year, while I did cop out on Joe and Farber seeing as how I said that I would hang out with them and feel awful about it, I went with Kyle to Zimm's. Basically we ate, smoked, and watched fireworks the whole day. Even got to play some ultimate frisbee and see a knife fight happen randomly in front of Zimm's house. Anyways, just the stuff that happened and what was going on made me think that this could be good enough for a series. But then again I am still high.

Later days, and happy independence day.

-Mike

I started work (finally) this week. First day was just driving around the solid waste area, all 5000 acres. Really wasn't going to complain though. I am getting paid $11.25 an hour.

Got my photo ID, got all 16 Mini DV tapes, and pulled in 3 hours today.

Tomorrow I'll probably be reviewing the tapes for 5 hours. The hardest part is at the beginning: trying to compress probably 16 hours worth of footage into 20 minutes. But it'll definately keep me busy this summer, and I'll be able to get much needed money for living next year.

Also, what I have discovered is that everyone and their mother is born in June. Every day is another birthday of a friend of mine, or 3. Why do people like shagging in September? Start of the Fall gets people horny?

Ehh, it's been a long day. And thus, later days.

-Mike

So the summer has started.

Taking 4 classes. 2 of which I don't attend. Thus I only have class Tuesday and Wednesday. 5 day weekends are very nice.

Been going to the gym too. The original plan was 3 days a week. That hasn't happened yet. Going tomorrow, and probably Sunday so that will turn into 3.

Been playing DnD again. It's fun, and I get to spend some time with brothers I usually don't hang out with.

I'm still single. But have been on three great dates with a great girl (the fact that we have actually gone out to eat is a good sign when compared to my Ex's), and I hope I don't fuck things up. We talk every now and then since she is out of town, but it is nice to do. She seems sane and we do have a lot in common, so I'm hoping for the best.

Two weekends ago I went into Tampa for Aaron's Batchelor Party. I have been friends with Aaron since Freshman year, and consider him one of my closest friends. We went to Bahama Breeze for drinks and food, went to the Dubliner Pub, and finally Mons Venus. I don't know what was going on, but Mons was packed. We got Aaron on stage with 8 strippers, and they almost fully stripped him, of course which caused us to shout out "NO!" We had a good time, and I ended up sleeping on the floor due to limitations in the room.

Last weekend was the wedding. Went into town Thursday for my tux and crashed at Aaron's parents place. Nothing beats eating homemade spaghetti with fat people (Aaron and Mark) to make you try to gain weight. For those that don't know, Mark used to be an alcoholic but then became a Born-Again and hasn't had a drink since the Bachelor party. He bought a 6 pack for dinner at Mr. Dunderbaks.

Friday I chauffered Aaron around before going back to Mr. Dunderbak's for lunch with Mark. God I love Schnittzle. Then we bought the wedding gifts (I figured a deep fryer would be nice). That night was the rehersal and the dinner. Got to meet the brides' maids. Interesting girls to say the least. Dinner was all you can eat at a great Spanish restaurant that Aaron used to work at. More gaining weight. Then we saw X-Men 3. It was decent. Some good, some bad.

Saturday was the wedding. By the way, I was a Groom's Man. The wedding was nice. More importantly there was the open bar. Aaron requested we drink at least 5. I had 9 that I can remember. I have a new found love of Black Russians. I tried to get everyone to do Hava Nagilla. Suffice it to say, no one but us College kids understood the concept. It was great to see Tony, Amanda and Chris again. May have to stop by St. Pete for Tony and Amanda this summer. I got a bit cranky since my collar was choking me, I was tired, and the Dicks started to annoy me. Mark (the born again who does not curse or talk about primarital sex.) was on Beer 18 with two in his hands, cursing a storm, and trying to figure out which of the bride's maids he wanted. He had fallen to the dark side, and he knew it. Thus he started to read the bible to sober up. Aloud.

Sunday I hung out with Marlow and Antonette and we had Crazy Buffet. Dear god it is good. Then I met up with Helen (who I can't remember the last time I saw) and we went to Drunk Will's (a first), got to meet many of the new BSers, drank more, and then went back to Marlow's. He is another good friend.

Monday, Helen, myself, and a bunch of BSers went to the beach. It was fun, and first time I had been to the beach in daylight in a long time. Did get a burn though. Came back home, and passed out.

Today I did something 90% of my fraternity can't do: took a drug test and am confident I passed. But now I need to pee every hour.

Tonight I'm going to my friend Jayme's place for her "going away shin dig". Don't know if I will be drinking, but will stop by for at least a bit. Tomorrow is gym and planning my homework out. Saturday I may wake up?

That's what I have been up to. Take care and later days.

-Mike

Steak N Combat?

So late chapter meeting and a few of us go to Steak N Shake.

Finally we go up to pay and there is some old man at the register. We are waiting patiently, just talking amongst ourselves.

Suddenly the man comments to the cashier "I'm sorry that we were interrupted by these two assholes."

The three of us look around and realize he was talking about us.

The Cashier brings him his change, which he is startled about, calling us assholes again, and she drops the money in his hand turns and says over her shoulder "Try not to get in any fights, sir."

He insults us a few more times and my friend checks to make sure I had my knife.

Fun experience for all.
I get the weirdest calls when I'm in Target

So this week I survived. Did okay on a Spanish quiz. Have a test on Monday which I need to study for and a test on Tuesday in Visual Language.

Last Monday was Rock the Arrow. We didn't even place. Fucking Greek Political Bullshit. Got to see my Big Sis though.

So Tuesday I'm in Target buying food since their food section is actually amazing and tastes awesome and puts Walmart brand stuff to shame, and my friend calls asking if I have weed. I tell her I don't, but point her in the direction of who would. Seems for a moment she thought Cohn, the huge pothead was Cohen. Simple mistake.

Friday I decide to chill with her, her boyfriend who is one of my brothers, and a few other brothers at the Pub. Yes, I actually went to a college bar and got drunk. Thank god for Designated Pledges. And yes, I did smoke some of that weed she called me about.

Saturday I went to St. Pete for two of my old friends' birthdays. Nothing like drinking with the Tampa crew. Had a good ammount and good times (Kahlua brownies are amazing). I also discovered the deliciousness of Spicy Mayo on sammiches.

Today I came back, and have a headache now. But I stopped into Target again to get something for my friend Brooke's 19th. While there, 4 of my drunk brothers who went to conclaive call me up and we talk about drinking.

I bought a ticket to see Matisyahu on March 23.

I have studying to do. Later days.

-Mike

Even smoked out with some on Sunday and could be doing it tonight, but I wanted to watch Battlestar.

Tonight I went on a double date with my friend Spencer, his girlfriend, and her friend. It was bleh. The friend was not social at all, and Spencer and his girlfriend apologized for that. I didn't see anything going on with it anyways. I'm turning to my AEPhi friends for some help, since their new pledge class is filled with good looking girls. But its fun to be social and try new things for a change.

Tomorrow should be going to Mount Dora for a civil war reenactment with some of the brothers. Should be fun.

Sunday is Superbowl party, and I find out which of the new guys I want to grab.

So for the few that read this, enjoy the weekend, and later days.

-Mike

My "sibling" is in it. I still crack jokes and try not to pass out. My Digital Media classes seem like they should be great and I have friends in all of them, so no worries there. In one class, for our first project we have to observe a playground from a designers point of view.

Someone will get arrested.

Turns out Kyle, when he actually is Kyle, is in a class with Angie and Rochelle. And to think I was just getting over her. She actually asked him "Does Michael hate me?" His response was "You think?" The truth is I don't hate her, even though I should considering what she did was probably the worst thing that anyone has ever done to me. But while I don't hate her, I'm not fond of her. If I run into her "boyfriend" I'm going to call him over and tell him the truth, since I doubt very much she has mentioned me at all to him. Classy Dame.

I also think I saw her today, but she did the whole "I'll turn around before he can see me." Didn't work, I'm kinda familiar with what she looks like walking away.

Oh, Bronwyn is back. I'm pretty sure she isn't in school, so no clue what she is doing here. And she knows I know she's back. Kinda hard to miss a skinny guy wearing AEPi letters moving in her general direction. She got fat. But I guess that's what happens when you smoke yourself stupid every day and don't do anything.

Good to know at least 2 of the crazies in my life are still creeping in. What next, I start seeing Steph?

Always hope I can find a sane girl. Later days.

-Mike
